Shantelle Smith

Victorian Lung Cancer Registry

Shantelle Smith is a Research Officer with extensive experience in cancer research, registry science and epidemiological research methods. Having completed her Masters of Public Health and Masters of Cancer Sciences, Shantelle worked with the Victorian Lung Cancer Registry on various projects before moving to Perth to pursue her PhD. She is currently working with the Western Australian Cancer Registry on a Cancer Staging Project, utilising Artificial Intelligence methodologies, such as Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, to collect registry-derived staging at diagnosis.
